.
- Robotic spot welding is complex and difficult. The main problems are with
electrode life and transgun arm placement.
- The best use for robots in spot welding is more than four spots in more than two
planes. If this criteria is not met then the cost of the robot is not
justified. It should be noted that more than three parts with two welds each
would justify use of robotic resistance welding.
- Safety should be your first concern.
- All robotic arms are not made the same. In addition the software that comes
with the arm is very important to the success of the installation.
- There is a huge difference in robots in a cell, a stand alone robot,
and robotic welding lines.
- Spot welding robot cells are best for replacing manually moved transguns.
The cell should have at least two stations. One station can be loaded while
the other is being welded.
- Please call us with specifics of your spot welding cell needs. 317-251-5301.
